Vets and Valor aims to help veteran entrepreneurs successfully transition to the civilian world by training and preparing them to run and own a business.

How does your company support veterans in running businesses?

We have a back end operations team that have years of experience in running businesses, specifically operations for businesses in the service based industry.  

What types of businesses do veterans run through your program?

Our investment thesis is to combine recession resistant businesses with the strengths of our operators. Our core business industries involve: Skilled blue collar trade companies, contract based (commercial and DoD) health care companies, and B2B and B2C sales companies.

For Veterans

Who is eligible to participate in your program?

Any verifiable veteran qualifies. We still will put them through a rigorous interview process. Positions are limited and will be closed periodically as we hit capacity.

What kind of training do veterans receive?

We have a comprehensive training plan that includes subjects such as mindset, leadership, business operations, sales, marketing, and finances.

How long does the training program last?

3-6 Months depending on the pace and aptitude of the trainee.

What support do veterans receive after they start running their business?

24/7 Operational support for any issues they may run into.

Are there any costs for veterans to join the program?

Not at this time. We believe in serving veterans first.

What transition services do you help with?

Everything a veteran would need. VA disability claims, using the VA home loan, legal assistance, financial assistance, therapy and retreat resources.

Is this location dependent?

No. We look for businesses in the area the veteran will be settling in. We can also look for businesses in different areas if veterans are willing to relocate.

How long is this commitment?

The training program is 3-6 months. Once the veteran completes the program and we buy a company for them to operate, the minimum commitment is three years.

Business Operations

How are businesses selected for veterans to run?

Businesses are identified through our core investment thesis along with the strengths of that specific veteran operator.

What industries do these businesses operate in?

The companies we look for will be in skilled trades (HVAC, Plumbing, electrical, manufacturing, etc.) healthcare, and B2B sales.

How is the success of these businesses measured?

Our operations team sets metrics for our veterans to aim for. These will include KPIs for revenue, sales, marketing, margins, etc..

What happens if a business fails?

If the business starts to trend in the wrong direction, our back end operations team will provide hands on, step by step guidance to correct the issue or step in fully if need be.

Can veterans choose the type of business they want to run?

As long as the business fits the Vets & Valor core investment thesis, the veteran can express types of companies they have interest in running and we can tailor our search towards that.
